The Nepali Congress has organised a tea reception programme at the party headquarters in Sanepa today to exchange greetings on the occasion of Dashain , Chhath, Bakra-Eid, Nepal Sambat and Tihar festivals.
Senior leaders from different political parties including CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party Chairman Narayan Man Bijukchhe, among other leaders, are present at the reception.
Foreign diplomats, civil society leaders, journalists, senior officials, artists and media persons have also been invited at the reception.
The party has been organising tea reception s every year on the occasion of Kojagrat Purnima—the last day of Dashain festival—since 1976 A.D.
The practice of organising such tea-reception was first initiated by late NC leader B.P. Koirala after he arrived with the policy of “national reconciliation” with the objective to exchange greetings.
